The Vermont House is located in the heart of the Green Mountains, in Robert Frost country, on Route 125 in Ripton, Vermont. The one-acre property is bordered by open fields, National Forest and Middlebury College's summer campus at Bread Loaf.

Bread Loaf is approximately a five hour drive from the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut metropolitan area and a three and a half hour drive from Boston. It is within an hour and a quarter of both the Burlington Airport and the Rutland Amtrak station.

The house is surrounded by trails which provide countless opportunities for hiking, biking, and cross country skiing right from the front door.

Within 2 miles of the house there is downhill skiing at Middlebury College's Snowbowl, scenic walking trails on land formerly owned by Robert Frost, and more rigorous hiking on the Long Trail.

Within a short distance are countless other attractions including some of the most famous downhill slopes in the East; fishing, boating and swimming in the numerous lakes and streams; and of course, the opportunity to be enveloped by the beauty that is Vermont's foliage season.
